What is a Birth Doula

As a doula, my role is to be a professional labor assistant who provides physical and emotional support to you and your partner during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, regardless of the outcome. For instance, I could offer attention to physical comfort through techniques such as touch and massage and assistance with breathing and positioning for comfort during contractions. I will also work closely with your partner to help teach them support techniques.

Why Hire a Doula?

  • As a Doula, I am a wealth of knowledge and during birth can provide comfort with pain-relieving techniques and help fulfill specific needs by helping you advocate for those desires.

  • I will also help your partner to learn how to help you through labor and delivery. I like to make sure the whole support team in involved.

Service fee $1200

Included in birth services:

  • 60 min Virtual meet and greet

  • On-Call Upon Hiring

  • Phone/Text/Email Support

  • Two Prenatal Visits

    • 1st Prenatal - workout your ideal birth experience, go over alternatives

    • 2nd Prenatal - Confirm Birth Wishes, talk about positions & Create a Postpartum Plan

  • Full Labor & Birth Support (backup provided)

  • Practice comfort techniques with you and your partner

  • Walk through stages and phases of labor 

  • Work on skills to process potential fears or anxiety you may have about birth.

  • Two one-hour postpartum visits either in person or virtual

  • Breastfeeding support

  • Baby soothing techniques

    As Your Doula, I will:

    • listen to you with respect about the decisions you make for yourself, your baby, and your family.

    • help you feel prepared for all kinds of outcomes knowing that if things do not go as planned you have not failed. I will help you honor your body and the complicated and unpredictable process of birth.

    • offer my full support during the most vulnerable time of your life. I will cheer you on in your moments of strength and power and be a shoulder to lean on during times of stress, and uncertainty.
